Energetics
and Awakening:
A Weekend Immersion
Robert Rhyne and Luciano Melo are offering a hands-on, weekend immersion on energetics and awakening in which every moment is transmission.
We guide participants into direct contact with energetic presence. Through attunements, movement, sound, breathwork, and other practices, you will recognize, open to, settle in, and become the fundamental energetic flow of awakening.
The immersion works in two arcs. The first is dual: learning to direct, receive, and work with energy as a relational field — connecting with any being, object, or environment. The second arc is nondual: making direct contact with the nibbanic/primordial element, the ground from which all energy and healing arise.
Manuals and certificates of completion are provided. This immersion is the prerequisite for the Level 2 immersion on June 20–21. Space is limited!
When: Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, 2026
Where: The Iona Center in Washington, D.C.
4125 Albemarle St NW, Tenleytown
What to bring: water bottle, journal and pen, lunch (there are lunch options in walking distance), snacks.
What to wear: comfortable clothing

My journey began with a passionate zeal to heal my epilepsy, the core wound of separation, the ache of longing, and samsaric bondage. In that I have found healing, freedom and a fountain of renewable energy from which to serve the awakening needs of our planet. Since 2008, I have offered guided meditations, awakening advice, dharma talks, and led retreats, at the Buddhist Vihara in Washington, DC, and Bhavana Society in West Virginia, while deriving my livelihood as a government worker.
For the past three decades, I pursued awakening from as many angles as possible, and devoted myself to intensive practice time including numerous 3 to 5 month retreats and a one-year retreat with numerous Buddhist monastic teachers. My focus has been primarily experiential, although initially my interests were academic (Ph.D. in philosophy). I was and am today a devoted and relentlessly thorough student of the Buddha. Simultaneously, I trained in and taught various healing and energetic modalities, including yoga, reiki, breathwork, and tantric attunements.
